Day 1
Arrive Putao by flight then a short scenic drive through
small villages to Malikha Lodge. Check in into Malikha Lodge in time
for lunch and in the late afternoon, you can explore the surrounding by
walking or taking a mountain bike.
Day 2
An hour drive from Putao to Upper Sangaung by vehicle. At
the village, we will meet with our staff with crew who will carry all
the expedition gears on our trek. Then, trek 13 miles to Wanglai Dam
village and on to our exclusive Nam Lang River Camp at a leisurely
pace. Enjoy the scenic views of snow-capped peaks and untouched forest
in five to six hours of trekking without too much in the way of steep
sections.
Day 3
Start this day at early morning by trekking 9 miles
towards Ziya Dam village, the last settlement before going further into
the forest. You will get an insight in local traditions as we pass
through

several villages. This short trek promises you to offer great
views towards Mt. Phonekanrazi and other snow-capped mountains. We will
camp in Ziya Dam.
Day 4
Trek 12 miles through Wanglai Damn to the Nam Lang River
Camp. On the way back to our exclusive river camp, you will enjoy the
beautiful scenery of Nam Lang Valley. Our stunning riverside camp is
just below a rattan and bamboo bridge across the first river canyon.
With deep pools of turquoise water and some premium swimming holes, the
canyon is an impressive beautiful place.
Day 5
Trek 10 miles to Upper Sangaung; transfer to Putao by
car. We will head back towards main Putao Valley and the road head at
Upper Sangaung, by taking less used path offering the same scenic
beauty. From Upper Sangaung, transfer to Malikha Lodge by our jeeps. A
warm bath and a cool glass of champagne are waiting for you.
Day 6 - 7
Two full days of leisure at Malikha Lodge. If you are
very energetic person and enthusiastic for discovering natural beauties
of Putao Valley in more active and adventurous ways, you can join our
guided activities like mountain biking, a cruise excursion on the
Malikha river or trekking on the back of an elephant. We can arrange a
picnic lunch or dine at the Lodge depending on what you feel like.
Alternatively, you can relax your final days at Malikha Lodge by
enjoying surrounding views or ease your aching muscles and soothe your
soul with a gentle massage.
Day 8
Check out after breakfast and flight back to Yangon Airport from Putao.
Riverside Campsite
Camp out in our own style, Nam Lang
Riverside Campsite has a separate covered dining area with an open
fireplace, as well as toilets, showers and a kitchen. Our private camp
is very tastefully sculptured into a huge rock
platform that juts out over the Nam Lang River and tent sites back from
here merge into the surrounding jungle.
