Pagodas of Bagan A classic tour covering all the main destinations and also includes The capital city of Yangon, the archaeological wonders of Bagan and the fascinating limestone caves of Pindaya. Myanmar is well known for its Buddha Images, Relics and Pagodas. Shwedagon Pagoda, which is one of the world famous, is located in Yangon.

Destinations: Yangon - Bagan - Heho - Pindaya - Inle Lake - Yangon

DAY 1 -- -- -- Arrival Yangon (Based on morning arrival)

Meet on arrival at Yangon International Airport by morning flight. Transfer to hotel. An afternoon sightseeing tour includes the old colonial-style city center, the gilded Sule Pagoda, dating back over 2,000 years, and tranquil Kandawgyi Lake with the Karaweik Hall, a royal floating barge. This is an ideal spot to take pictures of the lake and the beautiful gardens and trees lining its shores. An extended visit to Shwedagon Pagoda, one of the world's most spectacular religious monuments, will conclude the tour of this picturesque Garden City. The golden dome of the Shwedagon Pagoda rises 98 meters above its base and is covered with 60 tons of pure gold. Accommodation at hotel, Yangon.

DAY 2 -- -- -- Yangon – Bagan (B/L/D)

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Yangon Airport for domestic flight to Bagan. Upon arrival in Bagan, transfer to hotel and proceed on a sightseeing tour with a busy local market and continuing with visits to a diverse selection of the most important pagodas and temples such as Shwezigon Pagoda, built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th century, Gu Byauk Gyi, a temple with exquisite Jataka mural scenes, Khay Min Ga Temple, noted for its spectacular panoramic view of many area monuments and Ananda Temple, with its four huge standing-Buddha images and numerous seated figures arranged around the interior gallery. Lunch at Sunset Garden Restaurant.

In the afternoon, visit to a lacquer craftsman's workshop in nearby Myinkaba village. Sightseeing continues with visits to Manuha Temple, built in Mon style in 1059, Nanbaya Temple, a unique sandstone monument that is said to have been the palace of King Manuha, and Myingaba Gu Byauk Gyi Temple (under the protection of UNESCO), noted for its ancient mural paintings. Board a small local boat late in the afternoon for a sunset cruise on the mighty Ayeyarwaddy River. Dinner at Mahar Bagan Restaurant. Accommodation at hotel, Bagan.

DAY 3 -- -- -- Bagan – Heho – Pindaya – Inle Lake (B/L/D)

Optional Tour: Balloons over Bagan

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Nyaung Oo (Bagan) Airport for domestic flight to Heho. Upon arrival in Heho, proceed by road to Pindaya (65 km - 1½ hours) to visit Pindaya Caves, where pilgrims placed thousands of Buddha images over the span of many centuries. Lunch at Memento Restaurant.

After lunch, scenic drive to Inle Lake (90 km - 2½ hours). Transfer by boat to the hotel on the lake. Dinner and accommodation at hotel, Inle Lake.

DAY 4 -- -- -- Inle Lake Sightseeing (B/L/D)

Breakfast at hotel. Take a boat excursion on scenic Inle Lake to see the famous leg rowers, typical floating gardens, local methods of fishing and village life. Lunch at Nampan Restaurant on the lake. Further visits are made to Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the weaving village of Inpawkhon and other sights. Dinner and accommodation at hotel, Inle Lake.

DAY 5 -- -- -- Inle Lake – Heho – Yangon Departure (B/L/-)

Breakfast at hotel. Morning visit to a colorful market in the Inle Lake region, then proceed to Heho Airport. Return flight to Yangon. The car and tour guide remain at clients' disposal for further sightseeing or shopping. Opportunity to visit Bogyoke (Scott’s) Market until departure by international flight in the evening. Lunch at Green Elephant Restaurant.
